I just received a set of cheap Yongnuo RF-603N Wireless Flash Triggers.
I am actually surprised at the quality. Especially for the price.
I haven’t taken any exciting photos yet, but this weekend I should be able to play with them a bit more…
One interesting addition is that they also work as a radio remote to trigger the camera. (make sure you get the appropriate Canon or Nikon set)
These triggers are only for manual flash, but that is usually easier{{1}} than TTL in a lot of situations.
[[1]]If you are only using one flash, or want a very simple lighting arrangement, TTL is faster. However, us old school guys prefer to set the flash on manual so we know exactly what the lighting will look like.[[1]]
