This image was an out take from a commercial shoot I did for Dr. Timothy Brown of Ocean Park Natural Therapies. He was demonstrating the testing of various muscle groups.

I like the juxtaposition of old and young hands. I also like the Raphael-like interaction of the hands.

the black and white treatment simplifies the image, and minimizes distractions (Such as Dr. Brown’s bracelet). I also cropped to a 4 x 5 format to remove a bit of the patients forearm to give a tighter composition. Contrast was modifies (more contrast on the older hands, less contrast on the younger…) and some basic dodging and burning.
