So my phone rings…
“Hello”
Lots of background noise. It sounds like they are calling from a busy street market.
“Hello, I can barely hear you…”
“Is this Klughammer Alan?”
“Uh yeah, how can I help you?”
“Microsoft has noticed some strange activity on a computer registered to you”
Red flags!!!
First, why would Microsoft be monitoring my computer?
Second, would Microsoft (or their agents) use such an unprofessional service to contact customers?
And probably most damning, I don’t use any Microsoft software… I know my computers are secure, and I use Linux.
“Sorry, this sounds like a scam” and I hung up.
