The day started out a bit overcast, but the sun came out later, giving a variety of conditions to try out.<\/p>\n<p>The first set of images I have worked on were all taken of ice at the edge of the lake. One of my favourites is this one&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"g2image_centered aligncenter\" title=\"A painterly rendition of a frozen lake (Spectacle Lake at the top of the Malahat)\" src=\"http:\/\/alanklughammer.com\/portfolio\/d\/8617-1\/20130119-_DSC0130.jpg?g2_GALLERYSID=TMP_SESSION_ID_DI_NOISSES_PMT\" alt=\"20130119-_DSC0130\" width=\"614\" height=\"410\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I was originally attracted to the subtle colours and fractured shapes. I felt it was quite &#8220;painterly&#8221;. Maybe someone with a better knowledge of art history can tell me who this reminds me of&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The image was quite easy to work on in Photoshop, I emphasized the surface texture and enhanced a few of the sub ice colours. I also evened out the light, as the top left was a bit bright and pulled the eye away from the interesting things happening on the right.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I went up to Spectacle Lake on Saturday with my new camera.
