For much of my career, my day job has been in retail. Often in photography stores, but retail none the less. I like interacting with people. I enjoy back and forth conversations, whether they are with words, or visually, as in portrait photography.<\/p>\n

I have done fashion and (ugh) weddings, and even some editorial photography{{1}}. In each case, I  enjoyed building a rapport with my subjects.  I met the girl in the photo to the right  at a party where she was going through some rough times. I invited her into the studio the next day (Yes I know that could sound a little perv, but that was years ago in a different time). We ended up with this image we both loved.<\/p>\n

 I used to do a lot of portraits. In fact I had one apartment where I turned an extra bedroom into a studio, but for some reason I have let this skill fall by the wayside. Recently I have been working with a friend<\/a> building a new studio, and I miss taking portraits.<\/p>\n

Of course the first thing I did was to go to Amazon<\/a> to see what equipment I could buy…<\/p>\n
