{"id":2665,"date":"2015-11-20T14:23:18","date_gmt":"2015-11-20T22:23:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alanklughammer.com\/info\/?p=2665"},"modified":"2015-11-20T14:23:18","modified_gmt":"2015-11-20T22:23:18","slug":"digital-retouching","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alanklughammer.com\/info\/digital-retouching\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Retouching"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The computer has enabled many fields to advance at a very fast rate, and this includes retouching photographs and digital art.<\/p>\n<p>A good friend and <a href=\"http:\/\/janise.oleandros.com\/flagallery\/129-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">great painter<\/a> wanted to learn how to use a <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/gp\/product\/B00EN27SHY\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=15121&amp;creative=390961&amp;creativeASIN=B00EN27SHY&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=alanklughamme-20\">graphics tablet<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-ca.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=alanklughamme-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=15&amp;a=B00EN27SHY\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/> .<\/p>\n<p>She had an image from an old magazine we decided to use as a learning base. This was a perfect image because it was very simple, but had a lot of elements to experiment with.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2683\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2683\" style=\"width: 571px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2683\" src=\"http:\/\/alanklughammer.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/red_dress_before.jpg\" alt=\"A fashion sketch from an old magazine\" width=\"571\" height=\"768\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2683\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A fashion sketch from an old magazine<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Some of the steps we did included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dodging and Burning (lighten or darken areas) to create depth in the dress and other areas.<\/li>\n<li>Adjusting Hue, Saturation, and Contrast of the overall image<\/li>\n<li>Adding images, such as her painting on the wall and masking is so it is behind the woman.<\/li>\n<li>Adjusting Hue, Saturation, and Contrast of specific areas in an image<\/li>\n<li>Adding an image behind the glass of the door and\u00a0a reflection on the piano<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since she was already a painter, she understood how something should look. She just needed to learn how the various tools work.
