Technical to follow….

Depth of field is the range of “acceptable sharpness” in an image. This range depends on a lot of factors, including aperture, magnification and focusing distance.

Macro photography means close focusing and high magnification, which means shallow depth of field. To compensate, you can try to use a small aperture, but if you are not careful, you can get camera shake from long exposures as well as diffraction which both will make your image less sharp. There is also a post processing technique of image stacking. I may write about these topics in future posts…
