How to Kill a Camera

or not…

On Sunday I determined to go out and take some photos{{1}}. I got up early, grabbed my camera, hopped in the car and drove down to Beacon Hill Park.

As I was driving I realized there was a storm happening. When I got to Dallas Road (the road along the coast), waves were crashing over the street onto the houses on the other side. Mix this with the rain coming down and it was very easy to get soaked. Of course this is not any kind of excuse not to bring out a camera. I mean what could go wrong mixing expensive electronics with very wet conditions. Lucky that my Camera has weather sealing, although I may have been pushing the limits… I was a bit more concerned about the lens, especially the front element. I had to keep wiping off the rain and salt spray. Kudos to the lens engineers though as the lens seems to be just fine…

Long story short, I gave up before my camera did. And I got a few images out of the deal…

[[1]]My current job is very demanding of my time. It is hard to get a few hours off without distractions, let alone enough time to get into the photographic “zone”. I am learning to say no, but it is tough…[[1]]
