I recently came across the annual iPhone photography awards some of the photos are quite good and a few probably couldn’t (or wouldn’t) be taken with a big dslr. The reason is that the smartphone was handy, small and light.
Of course many of the shots show some of the shortcomings of a small sensor, fixed lens camera but prove that sometimes content trumps quality. Or even convenience can be more important than versatility
The moral of the story is the same old “the camera doesn’t (usually) matter
